Prescription Refill Requests Done Right!

Athens Associates in Family Practice is committed to protecting our patients' privacy.

We receive many requests for medication refills sent to us by a variety of different sources. We have found that, in most cases, these medication refill requests are marketing ploys made by pharmacies or mail order companies, invalid requests, or refill requests that have already been handled by our staff.

Effective April 1, 2008, we will only accept prescription refill requests directly from our patients or those family members who have been given the authority to access our patients’ health care records. Athens Associates in Family Practice has a 24-hour refill request line available to our patients to help make this process as easy as possible. This line is checked many times each day and we will continue to commit to getting your prescription refills handled within the 24-48 hour window that you are accustomed to…

LABORATORY RESULTS POLICY CHANGES - Effective January 20, 2010

Athens Associates in Family Practice's mission is to always strive to provide the best, and most efficient, cost effective and convenient medical care for our patients.

Due to the high volume of lab results that we relay to our patients, AAFP will no longer be able to call each patient with their laboratory results. On this date, we will be implementing a new service for the communication of laboratory results via e-mail through Relay Health, sponsored by Labcorp (Laboratory Corporation of America).

When you have labs drawn at our office, they will be interpreted by your provider and e-mailed to you directly. For the first time that you receive your lab results via e-mail through Relay Health, you will receive an invitation from our practice requesting you to join. You will need to accept this invitation and create an account so that you are the only one that has access to this information.

You will then receive a message that your lab results have been released and you will be able to view, print, and compare them at your convenience. You will be able to view the actual report along with the provider's interpretation and their notes to you.

*Exceptions: If your labs are processed through Quest Diagnostics' Laboratory or Athens Regional Medical Center's Laboratory then our office will contact you directly with these results.
